It takes much work to create a decent website. Its months of effort on research, design, and coding. Just before the launch, you should check the vibe and look of it. Skipping this stage to start your website earlier is a mistake. Use this handy checklist.

Are you all set to launch your new website?

It's exciting, isn't it, to finally see all your hard work ready to display to the entire world.

But don't rush through. Launching your website in a hurry is a huge mistake. After launching a site, you might see errors in it. Sites with silly mistakes set a wrong first impression.

As the saying goes, "The first impression is the last impression." Whenever anyone opens your website, they give a brief look over it, if it attracts their attention and is user-friendly, they browse through it. Or else they will leave your website within minutes.

If they like your website, they may revisit frequently. Hence, setting a good impression is very important.

Don't rush through your launch

Enjoy the process of making a website and full proof it before launching. There is no need to haste about it. Make a deadline, but keep it flexible. If you feel it's not ready, you can delay the launch.

There are several small details that you might have overlooked while making it. Hence, before launching a website, you should check your site and make sure it is a hundred percent ready.

It might be confusing on how to go about it. Some websites consist of a few pages, while others have many. How to go about checking if all the details are there or not? Or whether if it's ready or not?

To make your work easy, here are loads of useful tips for you.

Checklist before launching your website

There are five main pages on every website. You need to design them carefully.

  1. Homepage
  2. About Page
  3. Products or Services Page
  4. Blog Page
  5. Contact Page

You need to check each of these pages before you launch your website.

Homepage

The homepage is the first and most important page of your website. It's the first page a user sees. It should be attractive and appealing.

You need to check several things such as the color of the web page, the layout of images, texts, and videos.

The home page should reflect your brand and personality. Visitors should understand the objectives of the homepage within seconds.

It should be engaging and informative. Do not make it very busy by adding too many design elements.

Your home page must answer questions like -

  1. Who are you?
  2. What do you do?
  3. What is in it for your users?
  4. How to get what I want?
  5. Where can I contact?
  6. How to get support?

Answers to these questions generally cover 80% of the curiosity of your website users.

There should be clean and easy navigation menus. Access to the right kind of information quickly determines the success of any website.

About Page

This page should represent your brand's vision. Your journey and achievements. Before launching, do read this page and correct any grammatical errors if present.

You should be bold and clear about writing your brand values, traditions, and ideas. This page creates an emotional connection between the brand and the viewer. Hence, use it to your full advantage by stating how you have influenced and touched lives.

You can share team member photos, their interesting stories, or skill sets. It can boost customer confidence in your business.

Products or Services Page

This page is the crux of most websites. It displays products and services for sale, which anyone can buy. It converts a visitor to a customer.

Over here, you need to check if all your products are correctly displayed or not. The pictures, description, and price should be displayed in an organized way. If you are selling services, you should give details about it.

Checkout after selecting the desired products should be effortless and quick too. Plus, it should be safe and secure to buy a website.

Blog Page

Various websites have understood the advantages and usefulness of this page. On this page, check whether the blog listed attractively. Use attractive and relevant pictures related to your blog to attract readers. Check if they are appropriately categorized for essay navigation.

This page should update often, so you should have a proper content plan to publish regularly.

The keywords in the blogs help in SEO and marketing. If anyone searches these keywords, your website will show up.

In today's world, especially during the lockdown time, people spend much time browsing websites on the internet. They read blogs and articles on the topic of their interest. Hence, this page should be thoroughly checked before launching.

Contact Page

The contact page provides information such as an address, contact number, and email ID of your company for people to reach out to you.

Check whether there is any error in this. If these details are wrong, then nobody will be able to contact you.

You can also add maps indicating your location.

Several websites provide a redressal or a contact box. Over here, one can write about their query and submit it to you. Make sure these queries reach you.

These are the basic webpages of a website that needs to be checked before the launch.

Be your own customer and observe your website from the customer's point of view if you feel that it is user friendly then it is ready.

Make a checklist of all the points you need to check, and if at the end of your observation, all the boxes are ticked, then you are good to go.
