About the future of Mikan CRM

We have important updates on the future of Mikan CRM.

Hello,

In 2015 we created a simple tool for internal use to keep track of whom you talked to, what was said, and when to follow up next—later released as Mikan, a lead management tool for freelancers and small businesses.

It eventually matured into a full-fledged CRM trusted by more than 1,000 companies around the world. Five years later, we're making the hard call to end the development of Mikan CRM. This follows months of deliberation.

We explored all sorts of ideas for the product. We ultimately concluded that there are several excellent products available in the CRM space, and it makes less sense to add one more product unless we are introducing something exceptional.

Building CRM is difficult and time-consuming, and it is equally difficult for freelancers and small businesses to implement it. Instead, what they need is a simple lead management tool.

So we decided to relaunch Mikan in its original idea as a lead management utility but inside Budo (a website builder). Why this makes sense? It is because everyone needs a website and everyone collects inquiries on the website. Having a simple lead management tool by default, integrated with the website, makes real sense than having separate CRM software.

Soon Mikan will be available to all Budo users as a simple yet powerful lead management tool.

This does not mean that Mikan CRM is going away. Mikan CRM is here for good. Our existing customers can use it as before. Your account, your contacts, and your data will always remain safe and accessible in Mikan CRM.

We know this may not be the most welcomed news, but it's the decision we've made. If you have any additional questions, please contact us, and we'll get back to you within a day.

Thanks for your support thus far, and we look forward to supporting you for many years to come.

Onwards,

Siddharth Deshmukh,
