ShimBi Labs & SCIT, Pune, has completed program in Software Solution Design for Japanese Students.
ShimBi Labs in collaboration with Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology (SCIT), Pune, has successfully completed the program in Software Solution Design. There were 34 students from Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, Japan participated in this program. The duration of the program was four weeks. The course consists of six training modules viz. Business English, Software Engineering, Unified Modelling Language, Software Design and Design Patterns, Object Oriented Programming, Mini Project and an industry (company) visit.
Induction function for this program was held on 22.08.2010. Prof. Yoshio Nakatani, Vice Dean, College for Information Science and Engineering, Ritsumeikan University was invited as a chief guest and the inaugural speaker for the event. Mr. Siddharth Deshmukh, President/CEO, ShimBi Computing Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. attended the function along with Ms. Swati Sahasrabuddhe, Member of SCIT and Dr. Rajani Gupte, Director of SCIT, faculty members & staff of SCIT.
Apart from the academic program, ShimBi Labs arranged several cultural events such as Tabla (Indian classical drum) class, Indian dance class, visit to NGOs, Schools and universities. The students also enjoyed one night outbound team-work training, where they learned yoga. Visit to ancient caves of Ajanata & Ellora, both world heritage sites, was another big attraction of this program.
In order to make the stay of the participants in India more enriching, SCIT has introduced a buddy system. And ShimBi Labs arranged two night home-stay program, where student could enjoy local home food, culture and Ganesha festival (Indian festival worshipping an elephant-head lord called Ganesha).
We at ShimBi Labs seek possibility of arranging similar programs for other countries students as well.
